Democracy dies in darkness...

We've decided to be the light.

Because people deserve better.

Introduction

Our rights belong to the people; not the powerful. Our leaders need reminding of that. The North Bay Commons is here to be that reminder. We are the voice pushing back against those who take what belongs to us, silence dissent, and strip away our right to know why. We’re watching. We will not be quiet.

Mission Statement

How do we achieve these goals?
By building grassroots community initiatives grounded in peaceful activism.
We believe meaningful change happens when people come together. Our focus is on uniting local groups around shared causes, amplifying our collective voice so it is impossible to ignore and strong enough to make a lasting difference. Our actions may take many forms, including coalition building, peaceful protests, workshops, petitions, campaigns, write-a-thons, sit-ins, creative vigils, walking tours, charity fundraisers, portable murals, and more.Real change can begin with one action. One person.
Together, imagine what we can achieve.
We are not powerless.

Protests

Last Protest
Our last protest was the Province Wide Fight Ford Protest on April 25th. We had approximately 22 participants.
Upcoming Protests
We will be joining the continuing province wide Fight Ford protests on May 30th;
Time: 1:00PM
Location: Vic Fedeli's Office 219 Main St East
Hope to see you there! Just bring yourself and hope for a better tomorrow. We can provide signs if needed.

Workshops

Last Workshop
Our last workshop was the May 17th Fight Ford Sign-Making Workshop located at the North Bay Public Library. Hosted graciously by part of our team at the North Bay Commons, Noah! Here they're working on part of the display for protest day.
It may not have had much of a turnout, but we believe hope can start small. So we refused to let it get us down. We made signs, started our protest project, and showed up for each other. We laughed, we worked, we held the line for everyone who couldn't make it.That's what this movement looks like sometimes. Not a crowd. Just a few people who refused to let a setback mean defeat.Upcoming Workshops
